Travel to Moldova

Located in Eastern Europe, between the Prut and Nistru rivers, the Republic of Moldova is a territory of about 33,840 square kilometers in the southeastern part of Southern Europe, being bordered on the west by Romania and on the north, south and east by Ukraine.

There are 31 border crossings in Ukraine by land (by car, railway or river) and 9 border points in Romania (by car or railway).

ENTRY CONDITIONS:
  • It is mandatory to present, at the state border crossing on the way to the Republic of Moldova, the negative result of the PCR molecular test for SARS-CoV-2 virus infec-tion, performed at most 72 hours before boarding (for those traveling by public transport) or entering the territory of the Republic of Moldova (for those traveling by their own means). Confirmation must be submitted in one of the Romanian, English, French and Russian languages.
  • Persons transiting the state border on the way to enter the Republic of Moldo-va and do not have a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test will be required to com-plete the epidemiological file, respec-tively will sign the self declaration letter to comply with the self-isolation regime of 14 ( fourteen) days in certain places.

The Republic of Moldova enjoys a visa liberalized regime with over 100 countries; Thus, citizens of the EU, UK, CIS, CEFTA, USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, UAE, Australia, Israel, Turkey, New Zealand, certain countries in South America and Asia, do not need visas to enter the Republic Moldova for a stay of up to 90 days, during 6 months From the moment of first entry.
